Review: Symphony One 2008 & Ubuntu 8.04 Ubuntu 8.04 Release Candidate

Symphony
Os
and unfortunately my expectations were dashed. This operating system-based
Ubuntu 7.10 (so many programs installed
deb!) Stands out for having a unique desktop manager, Middle, written specifically. The lightness of Middle-than Gnome or KDE certainly stands out and is very intuitive ... but compared to the more famous incompleteness is also evident. Half disappointment well, because I expected something very elegant and light in the wake of E17. Certainly the effect expo "of the minimized windows is pricey, but it all ends here. On the other hand, the management of the system seemed too uncomfortable (compared Gnome and even E17). I will continue to follow the project
Symphony
One but in the meantime we go to 8:04 or Ubuntu Hardy Hernon RC . Today is the final output with long term support (thus ensuring reliability) and I think not even try. In fact they are too satisfied with the RC version (ie, the release candidate) to remove it !!!!! After you resolve any problems with the card wi - fi (see previous post) and (incredibly) have enabled Compiz without any problem simply by enabling the restricted driver ATI graphics card (in the live did not appear, strangely, no restriction device driver ... boh!) I had to bow down before the distribution more "human" that exists! I "wooooow " and " waaaaaooooo " also have multiplied since I have not even done done a full installation, but only through Wubi (included in live bootable cd and therefore Windows !). The slowness with the intallation are "puff " disappeared! The system is also fast duramte heavy hard drive access (installation of many programs and updates) virtualized. I think I'll keep this in luuuuungo distro until the next version least! I will do a complete test for 3 months and if everything smooth line will cut off the view (which bear less and less ...) for ever from my notebook . Among all this is definitely the best distro I tried. Highly recommended for all users migrated recently and those little "freak", has no time ect ect ... (is it true what they say around !!!). Hello Hello everyone I'm going to enjoy my Linux

Running Shoes And Hiking Shoes Difference

and Lock System: Ralink Wireless Solved!

8:04 After various adventures with the kernel of Ubuntu I finally solved the crashing! As I suspected the driver of the integrated wireless card was the main culprit ... Following this guide http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/Hardware/DispositiviSenzaFili/CompatWireless (but on Ubuntu Hardy Heron Release Candidate) that substantially explains how to install the driver and present replace the default, the blocks are gone. But here is another problem that already shows up. Compiz does not work. The video card drivers: Ati Xpress 200m is a tantrum despite the opening to the world of Linux Ati same. In fact, in RC Hardy Heron no longer appears between devices with restricted drivers, but there you are setting the extra effects on the "Desktop Effects Could Not Be Enabled" to wait (sigh sigh ... I'm really unlucky with ste video cards!). As I understand it has Compiz Ati card is blacklisted for some bugs (but how? Versions apha Compiz was great!). Then we go I have to wait for the final release or use Xgl (ufff. ..). Maybe while I get back gOS Space. For the rest of Ubuntu 8.04 is phenomenal! I can not wait to leave all the notebook and remove Vista (stealing gb gb on every day, damn!). Hello Hello

Flames! Mac Vs Linux, too Myths collapse ...

Flames
! Or "quasi-insults", generally present in the forum ... but in the absence of the forum (but you can do I'm with blogger? Mah ..) do it myself. Someone will be aware of the event Own
Own . This is an event where hacker challenge to pierce an operating system and if they can bring you a little house that have penetrated the computer (computationally ) along with a few handful of bucks . Well, the first operating system to give was Mac . Followed by Vista (installed with the latest Sp 1). Linux, specifically Ubuntu , however, has resisted and there was nothing to be done for any hacker ! Generally, the criticisms of Microsoft are turning to serious security flaws. This time is right to break a lance in his favor ... but only when compared to Mac . Obviously, I'm not here to praise Vista. I feel rather than discourage the purchase of a mac for reasons that are not limited to safety. Flames ! Why you paid a cool operating system but ago water from all sides regarding security worse than Microsoft ... Flames ! Why is not true that it is easy, indeed in some ways is more intuitive view. Flames ! Why is nice but most of Vista compared to Compiz is' na ciofega (as compared to the point Aston Martin 007 ). Flames ! Why if you took the white gets dirty and turns yellow-shit, nothing but the brown of Ubuntu (preferably black). Flames ! Why have a pc with components that cost less than half, at that price had to give a pc of Alienware . Flames ! The games are few brand new ones cost so much and you dream about them to the resolutions of Vista (without making the comparison with the frame rate of Linux ... there just weep). Flames ! It 's all paid and the account is salty ... both on the software and hardware (basically wiped the tears with salt). Flames ! If you have the ' ipod and want to upgrade you have to use Safari (the culprit of its security flaws). Flames ! Flames ! Flames ! Why this is just the tip of the iceberg ... I miss the ' update is free, if you had Tiger and Leopard want paid worse Windows . Flames ! Like hell Office put it ... Have you seen the prices unless you are a student? Ah you downloaded with P2P in spite of the laws (strict) Copyright? Well with a little more effort you downloaded Leopard and put it on any pc a third of what you paid cool - Mac ! Flames ! Flames ! Flames ! But it was better to embrace the philosophy Linux Opensource and be moooooolto more cool and stop with the phrase "but I do not know anything about compiuter "that Linux is so easy ?????

Distro Review: SugarOs, Dreamlinux 3, CrunchBang, Slitaz, Freespire.

continues distro-review craziest in the world, or how to install multiple operating systems in the shortest possible time and just for funny. First, there were more than 13 but less than 15, ie 14. The distribution was forgotten Sugar toy is a noble derived from Red Hat
. So we're talking about an operating system that uses packet formats. rpm (hideous in my opinion, but had realized that I'm a fan debian?). This, however, only in theory. In practice Sugar Os is operating system of ' OLPC the famous low-cost notebook designed for children in developing countries in order to reduce the so-called digital divide. Just Against this background, it appears that Sugar Os is oriented education. The responsiveness of the system really is extreme. Besides considering the specific ' OLPC also said computer to handle, because this replaces the battery of the notebook , it was pretty obvious. But the wireless card not recognized and you can not install any other program, as well as software bundle ridiculous (it's designed for children ...) mean that it is not even conceivable use desktop. Uninstalled after 5 minutes. Add to this that would be better for children Edubuntu (ne Know someone who speaks glibly of crack, serial ect ect just 8 years ... they know almost more than me!). In short, the idea is good and is good but could do more. I have devoted much space to this distribution because I like the idea of this project is close to the open source philosophy of Linux and to my beliefs. For the rest of the tests on the distributions are not at all stops. Add to the list of April 1 - Dreamlinux 3 2 - CunchBang , 3 - Slitaz , 4 - Freespire. So Dramlinux is fairly fast with good hardware detection, also as a good usability and intuitiveness BUT I highly recommend putting Debian, which results in precisely Dreamlinux an alternative! CrunchBang Linux is a fork instead of using Ubuntu as a desktop enviromnet the lightweight Openbox . Despite the performance certainly better than the heaviest Gnome Debian / Ubuntu OpenBox is even more limited ... below, in my opinion, even Enlighenment 0.17. I'm not even recommend it on PC dated as however the rest of the system is at least as demanding Gutsy . Slitaz was a surprise! In just 64 mb contains an entire operating system with fairly complete software bundle. The observations made about Damn Small Linux for the rest . Finally Freespire. Freespire use KDE , which does not attract my thanks. It 's a derivative of commercial Linspire distribution (just read on Wiki its history ... emblematic !!!). Freespire has some interesting trivia such as the pack manager Click'n 'Run inspired by the Mac system . In practice, click and install (works literally so!). You can access the programs. deb (working with Ubuntu ). The vote is only 7.5 because it is not used in Italian and Kde . The commercial version would be perfect if it had Gnome! If there Gnome interested spend 60 euro ... and you have the best of Linux, most of the benefits of and Mac compatibility with Windows programs (also has agreements with Uncle Bill G.) with Linspire ... and zero against!! Of course the question remains: opensource philosophy but this is not the place for such dissertations (by the way are half way between the agnostic and with favorable Linspire). Currently and subject to the previous post, I have no other attractions on Linux distributions. So I'll keep updated on those that have convinced me more than others. In all ten. But I ask you a question: Which of those reviewed convinced you the most? Commented please ... Bye.

in New Test Program: One Symphony 2008/Ubuntu Hardy Heron

Dear Readers unnecessary tests after I decided not to install Ubuntu and gOS Space. Unfortunately my wireless card sends the ball total . This is the well-known problem with the integrated Ralink . To date, there seems to be a driver that should fix the problems but I have not had time to test it (if anyone has news, they are listening!). Nevertheless I'm waiting for the end of downloading
Symphony One 2008. This excellent distribution that promises sparks as a light, so system speed, thanks to the revolutionary Mezzo Desktop Manager is called a fork
of Ubuntu Gutsy including all amendments. After a long wait due to the development of stand-by is available for download since yesterday (slowly) from the official site. In the previous test, unfortunately, I encountered some incompatibility with my new notebook . Soon (hopefully seen the work correctly) I will have to judge the last time I hope to release compatible! As for Ubuntu 8.04, however, will be the next on the list even if the kernel is the same version alpha (and hence the blocks of the system are likely to start the wireless connection ...). Greetings to all, soon the news tests! Ps Out Post I was pleased that the odd player there ...!!! All these and others (maybe) new: please comment comment comment !!!!!! If growing numbers of readers think to add this blog to those BongoLinux and Tuxfeed of whom are avid reader myself. Ciauuuuz

Funny Things To Write In A Christaning Book

2.9 gOS gOS Space Review

Final Verdict: another clone-buntu. Although they have been corrected many of the bugs that plagued the previous version, the abandonment of Enlightenment, for the most complete Gnome, dramatically shows this distribution, service-oriented Web 2.0 (see Gooooogle in the first place) nell'alveo of copy-buntu. Only the graphics, especially attractive, however, change. Although the default installation of flash player, audio / video formats, ect ect, you know already seen (see Linux Mint). Actually I do not mind that much, the brown of Ubuntu is objectively unwatchable, but ... as usual "decide on the hardware." The usual problems with Compiz portable video cards and drivers seem insormantabili closed. Sure to give any effect as the cube can ... but you should not! The new version of Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron has not named the same problems. I suspect it's a question of the kernel (which manages hardware peripherals, just as the video card) used in gOS. In short, the graphics pussy (and I repeat very mac-style) if not enough then compiz does not go! A point I keep Ubuntu I'm not? Maybe I'll plant the graphics ... gOS rating 7 / 10. Ps the test was done in both live and full installation. Speed definitely better system of Ubuntu, distro-usability of the mother.

Os X Crossword Puzzle Maker

New Release

Since yesterday is available on the official website and free to download the new version of gOS. GOS is a Linux-based Ubuntu Linux operating system but fully oriented Web 2.0. Some time ago I appreciated very much the version called Rocket. Now is the time to download Space 2.9! The abandonment of the Enlightenment window manager, which are known characteristics of lightness extreme, to say the true leaves me a bit puzzled ... it will become another clone-buntu? And the light, will be the same with Gnome? Mah .. between 1 hour and tell you finish the download. Is also evident from the screenshots the flu Mac-Style. Clearly the # 1 feature to be put / reactivity of the system, plus of course the 'absence of bugs. We'll see
you soon!

What Is Paddle Attachment On My Kitchen Aid

Common Problems Post Dual-Boot Windows / Linux

Typical scenario: you put a nice dual-boot Windows, but Ubuntu ... you made the mess (not part of an XP / Vista or Ubuntu)! And now you have to format one of the two operating systems. If problems with Ubuntu: searching the forums can help someone ... and they are all very helpful. In the forum there is the solution? If you have Ubuntu installed with Wubi you can uninstall from the Control Panel in XP / Vista Ubuntu and then reinstall all in 10 minutes (keep the tick in the requested backup qunado uninstall Wubi and used. iso file that was downloaded by putting it in the same folder as the wubi installer). Did not use wubi? Here is a little trickier. So 1) make sure you have the XP CD or Vista, if you have not download it (if you have Vista download Vista Recovery Disc by NeoSmart site and burn the file. Iso). 2) Go to Control Panel-> musical instrument Management-> Disk Management-> Manage disk and delete the ext3 partition (NOT the one that NTFS is Windows!). Then for XP: Put the Windows CD in the drive and click the choice will appear when R (should be the 1a), type 1 (if Windows was C:) and press Enter, you put the password of windows you have (if you have one) and press Enter, type "fixboot" (without quotation marks) and press Enter, type "fixmbr" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then you are running XP normalmete (start not choose to run Ubuntu of course) and you can reinstall Ubuntu (hard to devote all you need to Xp Partition Magic for a fee or other similar program to manage your hard disk .. x . yes, welcome back to the closed source Microsoft). If you have Vista: You must, however, put the CD in the drive NeoSmart Dvd Recovery Disc burned before. Reboot and press a button to start x from the drive (if F12/altro Fx impostarel'avvio button to access the CD before the hard disk). Choose Reset (not installed) and then access the propt. Type: Bootrec.exe / fixboot "and press Enter, type again" bootrec / fixmbr "and sent, then" bootrec / rebuilmbr. In Vista you can always use Disk Management to dedicate the entire disk in Vista itself: with esapndi partition (without Partition Magic etc). If you need any help just ask ... or read read read the forum! NB If you slaughter them with Microsoft and you have to reinstall it: Well there are the manuals, or you can write to Micosoft itself (maybe the answers come But ..... but point) .. or forums. Hasta la Vista (pun intended)

How Long Will Battery Last In Camp

Dual-Boot Windows / Linux Start

Typical scenario: Ok I want to put Linux. But then if I need Windows ? How do I? I do not want to format (and do not even know / I know it means)!
Mmm .. I read dual boot ... but is it safe? If I have to remove Linux back as before? Just to help migrating to Linux often Wubi advice. / Kubuntu / Xubuntu
directly Windows like a normal program. So much so that you can uninstall Linux from Windows from the Control Panel (and 4 / 2) completely! You might ask: so why do dual-boot? Wubi virtualizes part of a hard drive, then Linux will be slower ( especially when you use that disk, which is actually a virtual hard: perhaps because are installing programs on inux !). Be clear goes well, I becoming a snail .. is still acceptable speed! If you want a more powerful Linux you have to install ("really") Ubuntu (or other cited Up ). If you want to try this amazing program you can download it free (for obvious things Linux) from the official site. Otherwise you can have both: Ubuntu and Windows same pc / notebook . First, it would be better to install Windows FIRST . In fact, as usual, the operating system from Microsoft (handsomely paid) does not allow you to do simple things: it does not recognize other operating systems (see Linux). Then install Ubuntu (recognizing all). You can download (for free) at the official site and burn the downloaded file (more on rewritable CDs). Setup is simple and faster than XP . The only prudence lies in partitioning : that when you decide how much space to give Windows and how Ubuntu (you decide how much space must have the Windows partition and the rest of the space will use Ubuntu : give at least 5 gb, 15 gb more than enough!). After installation (just read the guide on the ubuntu site is proof that chimps !) Reboot and you can choose whether to start Windows or Ubuntu each time the pc ! Will you use Windows less ... until the migration Total Linux! Guaranteed.

Other popular software / also well needed (more or less): 11) Defreg register - you do not need on Linux (just like this: in practically all the software you use for maintenance are useless on Linux 12) Photo Editor
- Picasa (Note for experts: Do not hate me, I am too well ...), Gimp 13) Video editing - Kdenlive, PiTiVi, Cinerella (a bit confusing but the + complete) 14) Slideshow - a sore point ... those used for video editing 15) Movies on Web Downloader - Firefox extension dowloaderhelper 16) In other distro staller - Lubi (works similarly to Wubi) 17) PDF Viewer - Adobe 18) Audio Player - the default 19) Reader Email - Thunderbird 20) boh! but qunti programs you need?'re just the geeks! However, if there are others going on the menu, click add program, type what you need (in English is better) and you'll see a list of programs (maybe on the drop-down menu at the top right select the ones available) PS opensource programs often work better than those paid ... In the vast majority of linux is open source, there are some exceptions but it is always the alternative cmq (Quite the opposite in Windows)

Since migrating to Linux can scare the most, as a matter of custom programs for other operating systems, I decided to review the best software I tested for a more pleasant transition. Typical scenario: I put it on linux (debian derivative) but I use x messages, go on the internet, writing her thesis, burn, Peer2Peer ????? 1) Burn - K3b, but there is also Black (fee ... mmm, better k3b which tuuuutto tuuutto!) 2)
Web Browser - Mozilla (obviously), but there is also Epihphany (very very fast) 3) Text Editor - OpenOffice (always saved. Doc is not x have problems with people using Office)
4) P2p - Amule (there's also meeting), Bitcomet 5) Messenger - Mercury (installed java6 please!) Amsn, Skype 6) screencapture - Instambul (better than others to pay for Windows) 7) Antivirus - not ahahahha ... you need it has not even Windows! 8) Firewall - Firestarter (but only if you are paranoid, you're not on Microsoft Networks cmq visible, unless you use Linux ... This is samba!) 9 ) Video Player - VLC (sigh. .. KMPlayer does not exist, my favorite Windows) 10) Defrag - aahahahah! how do I tell? you're on linux .. you do not need these things!
