Here are reviews of various distributions from me try: A) Ubuntu: the pros are all in easy to use ... from installation to usability; cons I would say a certain slowness comuque afflicts all the major distros ... we are in the middle of xp B) Mandriva 2008: here are the pros and the cons is the simple but more harsh flosofia opensource yes, free personalization and only partially deficient C) Gos: too fast from a live cd ... x internet is the best but not a complete operating system, a problem which is also found in D) Elive 1.5 (English only) E) OpenGEU (all three use enlightenment or E17) F) Danmar Small Linux: put it in your pocket as it occupies only 64 mb (surprising? No, it's linux guys!) even if it is not "geeks" in the graphics are fast! G) Kubuntu: Ubuntu equal to the same considerations, just change the graphics (only partly usability) and personally I prefer ubuntu but it seems that I am in the minority ... H) Pclinuxos: (English only) similar to mandriva hence uninstalled now ... .. I) Debian (hence ubuntu) I tried it recently, I preferred Ubuntu update for issues of (almost opposite philosophies) J) Fedora 8: I could not install it ... you do, maybe you are more fortunate ( I suspect it's the fault of the CD burned badly, but so lazy ...) K) Linux Mint: almost identical to Ubuntu, from which (has drivers and codecs, above all, the owners), and offers no particular advantages over L) FreeBSD: linux is not really ... but still lags behind in many respects to my opinion. M) Xubuntu: see Kubuntu. They were 13. It will try a few more before a final decision. Suggestions?

Ok I admit it ... I'm not 15. To be honest I do not remember them all. However, we begin the ABC: You got a computer. All satisfied and happy do not imagine that you have paid too much! Yes, because unless you've got a Linux PC (unpaid, of course) or a mac (much to pay in this case) you have been "taxed" by microsoft and you "give" your money. Many more than you think. Now say, and there I was without windows (maybe that is also Vista and then forget it .. you're sunk)?? You could use Linux. Kiara I too have made this mistake. But I am redeemed! You? Choosing a Linux distribution is to choose your new operating system. Which should I choose? We help a little: the easiest if you "noobs" (ie beginner) like me. 1) ubuntu 2) gos 3) damn small linux 4) OpenGEU 5) mandriva 6) elive. End of Part I that otherwise are intertwined with the ideas and I sconfondo. Then the pros and cons are great but it all depends on A: it is for you (old, new, etc.) B: What do you do (video editing, writing, internet, messenger, etc.) C: how much you are prepared to learn. Do not be deceived if you still have to take a machine to learn to use it. If you are new there may also be microsoft if you do not get the best ... you know, Microsoft is heavy, slow and insecure. If your computer is old and still better linux chipping will not make you regret the purchase chess bike instead of the new cool-book. About using linux is fine x internet, messenger, and the usual things that everyone does, but also x writing a thesis or program (but were not noobs?) Ect. If you do video editing Micosoft forget it and go to the mac. Learn. Yes, but not be so hard ... no? Sure you can count on thousands of people around the globe battered configure any x, customize, and despair. Then why so many people use windows? Because it seems that I will give the PC, it's easy (as long as you do not mind) and there are a lot of programs (always pay .. those are free + or less the same number). And I will end here: you have never written to Microsoft to ask why after a while the pc is slow ... but there is the assistance you need to pay x other programs (defragmenters, antivirus, registry cleaners ect ect ect). If you use the default you are insane.

Wow! This blogger keeps davero promises ... quick and easy. But let us ... And this is precisely we who?
